The Cause Community Choir

CCC is a fun, open choir which focuses on singing beautiful songs in harmony from the tradition of blues, traditional soul and gospel and lovely arrangements of popular favourites. The CCC has a vibrant community of singers and musicians in the choir and welcomes singers with little or no singing experience as well as experienced singers and performers.

Most songs are taught by ear and there is no need to be able to read music. However, sheet music is available for singers who find it helpful and written words are always on hand. Sound recordings are also available.

The learning style is fun and relaxed with an emphasis on encouragement to guide new and established singers through their own vocal style and range. We sing in three and four part harmony, sometimes more, and learn performance techniques along the way. Small group singing is also encouraged so that singers can learn to take solo parts in the various songs.

We perform regularly in and around Chippenham and always have a performance at the Cause Christmas Concert and at the Chippenham Folk Festival on the May bank holiday.

Beyond the ordinary

Singing together turns separate voices into one shared feeling. Breathing in rhythm, hearing harmony, and feeling surrounded by others creates connection, trust, and release. Your brain responds linking pleasure and mutual bonding, while the music gives emotions somewhere to go. For a few moments, you stop carrying everything alone... you become one!
